Different attack styles dictate which skills experience will go towards when engaged in combat. They also provide minor invisible stat changes. There are five combat styles.

In the case of end-of-room bonus experience rewarded in towers, if the killing blow is dealt with archery, you will be rewarded with archery experience and not combat experience.
